This is a 60km E bike ride, starting in Muhlbach am Hochkoenig, with 800m total climb, taking you over to Sankt Veit, Lend, Gastein waterfall, Goldegg and back via Schwarzach and Sankt Johann. It is a mix of forestry tracks, roads and cycle paths.
From the centre of the village cycle up towards the cable-car for 300m, then turn left at Schloeglberg. Climb south towards Althaus Sattel on a forestry track then down towards Sankt Veit, turn right before the village and follow the Watzmann runde sign West direction. About 3 km passed Goldeggweng you will arrive at Boendlsee where you can have a swim on a hot day!
Then follow the Lend direction, go down on a steep single track road to the Salzach river, cross the railway track and the river, follow the river for 500m towards the East and stop at a small parking passed the SAG aluminium factory to admire the Gastein waterfall.
Follow the river for 5 km, then turn left towards Goldegg and climb 3 km to the village, you can admire Goldegg castle on the left side when you get to the flat part of the road.
Go towards the center, the charging station is near the Gemeinde next to a restaurant, stop for coffee and cake while your E bike is charging!
Then continue to the lake that has a public swimming area with deck chairs and a small bar area.
It definitely helps having a E bike for this day out!
