In Summer, the hiking bus runs all the way from Arthurhaus to Dienten, and you can then get a bur from Dienten to Maria Alm, so you can make the most of the hiking in the whole Hochkönig area
The house is 750m from the main gondola station in Mühlbach am Hochkönig, and you can ski back to 100m form the house via the skiweg - the ski path - see a video by clicking the title. You access the skiweg from 200m from the Karbachalm gondola - you have to walk to the end of the car park. There is usually enough snow on the skiweg to use it from around Christmas until mid March. If there is not enough snow, you can take the bus back.
